About

Your neighborhood crafty bodega

Up one flight of stairs at 21 East State Street in Media, there's a little shop packed with the good stuff: Posca markers in every color, bricks of FIMO, Speedball inks, blanks waiting to be customized, and a big studio table with a seat saved for you.

Think of it like your corner store, but for making things. Run in for one marker. Stay for an hour. Leave with a project, a new friend, and a tip about which glue actually works.

I always tell folks: if the door is open, come right in!

What makes it a bodega

  • Stocked with what you actually reach for. The supplies makers use every day, priced as low as I can make them. Art should be for everyone.
  • The table is always set. Open studio, workshops, Friday Art Jams, weekend Craftoons. Walk-ins are welcome, even mid-workshop.
  • Ask at the counter. Stuck on a project? Not sure which pen bleeds? I'll tell you, and probably show you.
  • For everybody. This isn't a kids-only space, and it isn't a paint-and-sip. Parents, grandparents, friends, couples, and solo crafters all make here, often at the same table.

Hi, I'm Karith

Nimble Craft started at my kitchen table. I'm a printmaker with a background in graphic design and a mom of three, and when I was home with my kids, I wanted the hands-on, sensory, theme-based play I'd loved in their preschool days. So I made it myself: games for little hands, projects for letter recognition, and a lot of glue.

Somewhere along the way I fell hard for process art, where the doing matters more than the finished thing, and I realized grown-ups need it just as much as kids do. My idea was simple: put out really good materials, let people interpret them however they want, and end up with something modern enough to actually hang on the wall.

Since 2016, that idea has traveled. It started as craft nights in friends' living rooms, then became weekly sessions at Kith + Kin in Brewerytown, where kids explored materials while their grown-ups made something of their own. That's where my motto was born: Create + Bond + Share.

Then came workshops, maker markets, and pop-ups all over the region. When the pandemic stopped everything in 2020, a circle of creative friends and fellow women business owners kept me going. I kept pushing, and Nimble Craft found a home on State Street: first a cozy 400-square-foot studio, and now a studio plus a full arts and crafts shop.

My work

My own art is process-driven printmaking: linocut, block printing, and screen printing. I love mixing traditional folk art with modern minimalism, with bold graphic lines at every scale, from tiny prints to full murals. You'll see that folk-meets-modern look all over the shop, from our printables to our workshop projects.

Folk-art paper garden built in an egg carton
Hand-drawn animal shadow puppetsA stylized folk-art nesting doll illustration on a white background, with the text 'MAKE A LITTLE BIRDHOUSE IN YOUR SOUL' on the front. The doll is primarily yellow and white with black outlines and decorative red, blue, green, and orange accents.
Painted wooden DIY pins in moon and star shapesA handcrafted linocut or woodblock printing setup on a patterned fabric background. Visible items include a carved floral woodblock with a pinkish clay or wood base and dark inked floral motif, a white printing sheet with black floral and geometric blocks, a maroon-handled tool, and part of a metal cup with ink.
